Cowpeas (Lobia)

It has taken us a very very long time to restart the green cardamom since we weren’t quite happy with the samples we were getting. However, we have finally managed to find a very good source based out of Kerala who has helped us in sourcing this wonder spice amongst others.  The NGO group works with the small & marginal farmers in the area thereupon empowering them.

The aroma and taste is one of the best we have come across. With its numerous uses and health benefits, we had to get our hands only on the best of quality

Uses: All styles of cooking to add a distinct warm pleasant fragrance. Can also be added to drinks like tea etc. One can also chew upon one pod in its raw form.

The best way to store cardamom is in the form of pods because once the seeds are exposed or ground, they lose their flavor and aroma rapidly. Cardamom pods can last up to a year when stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Apart from regular cooking, a common practice in most Indian households is to have few fennel seeds or saunf at the end of every meal. This practice you might think is to freshen the mouth, but think again. A concentrated source of minerals like Copper, Potassium, Calcium, Zinc, Manganese , Vitamin C, Iron, Selenium and Magnesium, the age old practice does much more than simply beat bad breath.
