It has taken us a very very long time to restart the green cardamom since we weren’t quite happy with the samples we were getting. However, we have finally managed to find a very good source based out of Kerala who has helped us in sourcing this wonder spice amongst others. The NGO group works with the small & marginal farmers in the area thereupon empowering them.

Uses: All styles of cooking to add a distinct warm pleasant fragrance. Can also be added to drinks like tea etc. One can also chew upon one pod in its raw form.
The best way to store cardamom is in the form of pods because once the seeds are exposed or ground, they lose their flavor and aroma rapidly. Cardamom pods can last up to a year when stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Made by grinding chikpeas into a flour. Also known as Gram flour. Organic flour is milled from pesticide-free grain and grown in soil only fertilized by natural substances. The flour is not artificially processed or chemically ripened.
Benefit : higher in fibre and lower in calorie than refined wheat flour. It is also a good source of protein.

Uses: Flaxseed is found in all kinds of today’s foods from bakery produce to breakfast cereals, shakes, smoothies and even salads or sprinkled over cooked vegetables (ground flaxseeds)
Storage: Ground flaxseeds has a lower shelf life (about 6-16 weeks) even when carefully packaged in a gas-flushed, light-protective pouch and refrigerated after opening. Whole flaxseeds, on the other hand, will typically last for 6-12 months when stored in an airtight container in a dark, cool dry spot. If directly refrigerated, they may last for 1-2 years.
Flaxseeds when grounded to are much more prone to oxidation and spoilage and hence it is recommended to refrigerate in an airtight container and use asap.
